The 10th National Eucharistic Congress, held at
the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this July, provided a deeply meaningful moment of reflection for Catholics across the United States. This monumental event drew over 60,000 attendees and featured more than 100 speakers and musicians, creating a space for profound personal renewal through the power of Christ. At Corporate Travel, we are privileged to have served over 3,000 pilgrims and 45 dioceses during this event!
The congress, hosted by Montse Alvarado, Sr. Miriam James Heidland, and Fr. Josh Johnson, spanned five days and explored a variety of impactful themes. Each day centered on a distinct subject, guiding the conference’s agenda and enriching the experience for all participants.
The first day, themed “From the Four Corners,” symbolically united the four branches of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, emphasizing the strength of the community. On the second day, “The Greatest Love Story” delved into the profound history of salvation. The third day’s focus was “Into Gethsemane,” offering attendees a chance to reflect on the consequences of sin and the path to healing. Day four’s theme, “This is My Body,” highlighted the transformative role of the Eucharist and the call for participants to live out the Gospel in their daily lives. The final day, “To the Ends of the Earth,” inspired a call to action, urging attendees to embrace their roles as missionary disciples as the National Eucharistic Revival enters its third year, the Year of the Mission.
This year’s congress featured notable keynote speakers such as Sr. Josephine Garrett, who shared her inspiring journey from a Baptist banking career to her commitment to the Catholic Church with the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Fr. Boniface Hicks, a monk of St. Vincent Archabbey and Director of Spiritual Formation at St. Vincent Seminary, also spoke, along with other distinguished figures including Father Mike Schmitz, who will also be joining Corporate Travel on a Jubilee Pilgrimage in 2025 to Rome and Assisi.
Broken up by impact sessions in the morning and breakout sessions in the afternoon, the Congress provided countless opportunities for spiritual growth and unifying experiences. The seven different impact sessions included Encounter, Encuentro, Empower, Renewal: The Ministry Leader Experience, Cultivate: The Family Experience, Awaken: The Youth Experience, and Abide: The Priest Experience. The breakout sessions provided an even wider array of topics, ranging from Gift and Grit: How Heroic Virtue Can Change Your Life and Relationships, to Taste, See, Live the Goodness of the Lord: Incarnating the Eucharist.
The event was also marked by uplifting musical performances from Lauren and Dave Moore, founders of the Catholic Music Initiative, and The Vigil Project, a collective known for creating engaging worship music, along with several other musicians sharing the spirit through song.
