Itinerary
DAY 1: Monday, October 27 • Vienna
Upon arrival in Vienna, transfer independently to your hotel in the city. Meet your tour manager and fellow travelers before departing on a private walking tour of Imperial Vienna, learning about the Habsburg monarchy and seeing notable sites such as the Imperial Palace and St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Afterwards, visit Schloss Schönbrunn for an evening tour, welcome dinner, and orchestral performance at the Orangery. Overnight in Vienna.
DAY 2: Tuesday, October 28 • Vienna
Spend the morning at leisure before an afternoon music tour to explore the life and work of Mozart. Visit Mozarthaus, a museum housed in the only remaining Viennese residence of Mozart, and St. Marx’s Cemetery, which contains Mozart’s memorial and unmarked grave. Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Vienna.
DAY 3: Wednesday, October 29 • Salzburg
Check out of your hotel and transfer to Salzburg. Upon arrival, be greeted and joined by Sam von Trapp, the grandson of Captain and Maria von Trapp. Enjoy an afternoon walking tour of Salzburg’s Old Town, seeing notable sites such as the city’s fortress and cathedral. Afterwards, visit Stiegl’s Brewery for a tour, tasting, and dinner. Overnight in Salzburg.
DAY 4: Thursday, October 30 • Salzburg
Today, enjoy The Original Sound of Music Tour. See famous filming locations and learn about the production while also speaking with Sam about the real-life von Trapp family. Enjoy a themed lunch in Mondsee. Spend time at leisure before attending a performance at the Salzburg Marionettentheater this evening. Overnight in Salzburg.
DAY 5: Friday, October 31 • Eagle's Nest
Begin the day with a morning trip to the Eagle’s Nest, the former Nazi headquarters located in the mountains near Berchtesgaden. After the excursion and a group lunch, return to Salzburg for the afternoon and evening at leisure. Explore the town on your own and spend time with Sam before you part the next day. Overnight in Salzburg.
DAY 6: Saturday, November 1 • Munich
Say goodbye to Sam and check out of your hotel ahead of your group transfer to Munich. Upon arrival in Munich, meet your guide for a walking tour of the city, seeing notable sites such as the cathedral and Vikualienmarkt. Afterwards, enjoy time at leisure for dinner. Overnight in Munich.
DAY 7: Sunday, November 2 • Neuschwanstein
This morning, travel south to Hohenschwangau for a tour of Neuschwanstein Castle, one of the most visited tourist attractions in Europe and a renowned symbol of the Romantic era. After a group lunch, enjoy a drive along Bavaria’s Romantic Road, with a stop in the town of Füllen for time at leisure. Upon returning to Munich, celebrate your trip with a farewell dinner at the Munich Hofbräuhaus, one of the most famous beer halls in the world. Overnight in Munich.
DAY 8: Monday, November 3 • Return Home
Check out of your hotel and depart on a group transfer to Munich Airport for your return flight home.
