Pilgrims of Hope: A Pilgrimage to St. Augustine with Paula Umana and Fr. Mike Joly

Join EWTN host and Catholic speaker Paula Umana who shares her inspiring story of resilience and hope. Once a professional tennis player and the top ranked player in her native Colombia, she experienced total paralysis from a mysterious illness. Paula offers her story and inspiration along with spiritual director, Fr. Mike Joly.


Fr. Mike shares his own amazing story; a typical child until he lost his eyesight at the age of six. Fr. Mike went on to excel in sports, school and music. He was Ordained to the Holy Priesthood in 1994 and shares his gifts through his music, ministry and humble service to the Lord.

ITINERARY


Day 1: Monday, January 26 - Arrive in Beautiful St. Augustine

Travelers arrive on independent flights to Jacksonville, Florida. Upon arrival, the group will transfer via private motor coach to St. Augustine and attend an opening Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Augustine, followed by a tour. Check-in at the hotel to freshen up then depart for a welcome dinner at the Columbia Restaurant, featuring Dr. Mary Soha as the opening speaker. During dessert, short opening remarks from Paula and Fr. Mike After dinner, the group will return to the hotel via motor coach for overnight rest.


Day 2: Tuesday, January 27 -Visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre De Dios

After breakfast at the hotel, the day will be spent at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre De Dios, with lunch included. Mass will be celebrated outdoors at the Shrine. Return to the hotel, allowing time to freshen up before departing again for downtown St. Augustine. Participants will be dropped off near the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine and will have dinner on their own. At 8:00 PM, everyone will meet at the Cathedral Basilica for the return trip to the hotel via motor coach 


Day 3: Wednesday, January 28 - Tour of the Tolomato Cemetery and Time in Town

Following breakfast at the hotel, the group will attend Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, followed by a visit to the Fr. Miguel O’Reilly Museum. Afterward, the group will enjoy an Old Town Trolley Tour with lunch on their own. Later there will be a visit and tour of the Tolomato Cemetery, featuring Dr. Mary Soha. The day concludes with a 6:00 PM farewell dinner at the RainTree Restaurant, followed by a return to the hotel for overnight. 


Day 4: Thursday, January 29 - Rest and Reflection with the Lord 

After breakfast at the hotel, attend a 7:00 AM Closing Travelers Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, followed by Adoration at 8:30 AM with reflection and musical accompaniment by Fr. Mike The group will then transfer by motor coach to the airport, departing at 12:00 PM for their return flights
