ITINERARY
Day 1: Saturday, October 24 - Travel Day
Depart on independent air for Rome, Italy.
Day 2: Sunday, October 25 - Arrive in Rome
Arrive in Rome on independently scheduled flights and transfer to the hotel for check-in. The day continues with the celebration of Mass at St. Patrick’s American Church, followed by a reception and dinner with the chance to be welcomed by the Vatican Patrons Office team and Msgr. Terrance Hogan.
Day 3: Monday, October 26 - Doria Pamphilj Gallery | Pontifical Institute for Sacred Music
After breakfast, take a guided tour with Dr. Liz Lev of the Doria Pamphilj Gallery – a perfect blend of art and history, nobility, politics, and unions between some of the most important Italian noble families. Lunch on own, followed by a free afternoon. Then, experience the rich soundscape of sacred music with the students of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, founded by Saint Pope Pius X in 1911. From Gregorian chant to newly composed works under the direction of Rector Fr. Robert Mehlhart OP (“Let’s Sing with the Pope”), the performance showcases the talent of a uniquely international student body representing over 40 nations. Discover the University of Music of the Holy Father and enjoy a post-concert gathering in the historic cloisters of the Institute— normally closed to the public.
Day 4: Tuesday, October 27 - The Vatican | Restoration Labs | St. John Lateran Palace
The morning includes a walk through the Vatican Gardens, visiting the Lourdes Grotto and fountains. Visit one or more of the Vatican Museum’s restoration labs (closed to the public) for painting, tapestry, and stone. Enjoy lunch as a group at the beautifully restored Casina Pius IV, the headquarters for the Pontifical Academy of Sciences located in a picturesque part of the Vatican Gardens, overlooking St. Peter’s Dome. In the evening, take a private tour of the Lateran Palace, followed by a reception.
Day 5: Wednesday, October 28 - St. Peter’s Basilica
Embark on an early morning private tour of St. Peter’s Basilica. Then, attend the General Wednesday Papal Audience with Pope Leo XVI with special seating. In the afternoon, visit the Vatican Secret Archives then enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.
Day 6: Thursday, October 29 - San Clemente Basilica | PAVM Gala
Take the morning to enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Then, take a private guided visit to the Basilica of San Clemente with Fr. Paul Lawlor, O.P., an extraordinary three-tiered sacred site spanning the 12th-century basilica, the 4thcentury church, and Roman archaeological levels. This evening, celebrate Mass at the Church of Saint Stephen of the Abyssinians, followed by a private tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Share a glass of prosecco and Gala Dinner.
Day 7: Friday, October 30 - Day trip to Anagni
Depart for Anagni and take a guided tour through the medieval streets and squares, viewing palaces and Romanesque churches, as well as a tour of the cathedral and its magnificent crypt. There will be a leisurely group lunch before returning to Rome to pack and prepare for your travels home.
Day 8: Saturday, October 31 - Depart for USA
After breakfast at the hotel and check-out, take independent transfers to the airport.

All cancellations must be received in writing. Payments are non-refundable and subject to CTS Terms and Conditions, including the CTS Liability Release. CTS reserves the right to cancel any reservation if payments are not made according to the payment schedule. A $25 fee will be added to any reinstated reservation.
