A Dominican Pilgrimage to Italy with Fr. James Cavanaugh and Br. Joseph Trout
This Dominican pilgrimage leads travelers into the spiritual heart of the Order of Preachers, tracing the footsteps of St. Dominic and the great saints who shaped the Dominican tradition. In Rome, pilgrims pray at Santa Sabina—the mother church of the Dominicans—and explore San Clemente, a site rich with layers of history central to the early friars. The journey continues through Florence with Mass at the Basilica of San Marco, home to Fra Angelico and a treasure of Dominican spirituality and art. In Bologna, pilgrims visit the Basilica of San Domenico to pray at the tomb of St. Dominic himself, entering deeply into the heritage of the founder. Woven together with moments of prayer, fellowship, and guided exploration, this journey offers a rich immersion into Dominican life, history, and holiness, leaving travelers renewed in spirit and rooted more deeply in the charism of truth, study, and preaching.
