Controller
Responsible for the oversight of the company's accounting function
The Controller is responsible for the oversight of Corporate Travel’s accounting function. The position collaborates across all departments to provide accurate and timely reporting of financial performance while maintaining the routine accounting processes of the business. The Controller also participates in some areas of governance where financial metrics and proprietary intellectual data apply.
Responsibilities
· Review the various departments’ cost accounting totals as presented by the individual department Managers each month and migrate the balances into the company’s general ledger.
· Prepare Financial documents including core financial statements, financial forecasts, cost accounting analysis and occasional other ad hoc reports
· Assist management with important financial decisions
· Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions of the organization
· Monitor financial reports and vendor invoices to help identify opportunities to reduce costs
· Oversee the regular routine accounting function of the organization including check processing, bank deposits, bank reconciliations, etc.
· Manage and, when applicable, train other accounting staff on processes and systems
· Understand and assess financial metrics related to any pertinent debt covenants, credit processing, or other fiscal performance requirements
· File and manage physical and electronic financial records of the organization including invoices, check copies, receipts, and other relevant documents
· Provide owners with access to financial data and physical documentation when called upon
· Willingness to support endeavors outside of business hours when necessary
Requisite Skills and Qualifications
· Disciplined accuracy and attention to detail
· Flawless punctuality and timeliness
· Thorough knowledge of financial accounting, chart of accounts, cost accounting, and core financial statement preparation
· Passion for event management and cultural travel
· Familiarity with the MS Office Suite, including MS Excel and MS Word
· Proficiency with interpersonal (written and oral communication) skills
