Returning Love for Love: A Pilgrimage to the Heart of Jesus

You’re invited to join Bishop Earl Fernandes, Fr. Jonathan Wilson, and Emily W. Jaminet on a Jubilee pilgrimage to France to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the revelations of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Paray-le-Monial. Celebrate daily Mass at some of the most significant Churches in our Faith tradition; walk in the footsteps of great Saints including, St. Therese the Little Flower, St. Bernadette, St. John Vianney, St. Francis de Sales, and St. Margret Mary Alacoque; savor traditional French cuisine and wine; and deepen your love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus!

• Round trip scheduled commercial economy air from Columbus, OH (CMH) to Paris, France (CDG), returning via Lyon, France (LYS), (including fuel surcharges and  government-imposed fees of $300 as of August and 2023; final amount subject to change)

Itinerary

Day 1: Friday, May 31 - Depart USA for Paris, France

Depart on overnight flight(s) from Columbus, OH to Paris, France.


Day 2: Saturday, June 1 - Arrive in Paris | Lisieux

Arrive in Paris, France and meet your local tour manager. Depart on a private motorcoach to Lisieux, the home of St. Therese, whom Pope Pius X called  “the greatest saint of modern times”. Celebrate Mass at the Basilica of Lisieux. Continue to the hotel for check-in followed by a celebratory welcome  dinner. Overnight in Lisieux.


Day 3: Sunday, June 2 - Normandy | Paris

Today, check-out of your hotel and explore St. Therese’s life by visiting the Cathedral of St. Peter and her family home, Les Buissonets. View relics,  clothing, and personal belongings of the Little Flower. Pay homage to the Virgin Mary statue who smiled at St. Therese and cured her illness. Continue to  Bayeux and celebrate Mass at the Basilica of Notre Dame de Bayeux. After lunch on your own, depart for Omaha Beach, used by the American troops  during the D-Day landings of 1944, and pay respects at the American Cemetery. Continue to Paris for dinner as a group and overnight.


Day 4: Monday, June 3 - Sacre Coeur | City Tour

Begin the day with Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre, Sacre Coeur, where perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has  taken place uninterrupted since 1885. See the relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and the heart of her successor, Sr. Anne-Madeleine, who continued  devotion to the Sacred Heart. Enjoy free time for lunch on your own and to explore the artist’s quarter. Continue on a city tour of Paris to see the  Champs-Elysees, Place de la Concorde, Eiffel Tower, Opera House and the magnificent Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame. Group dinner and overnight in  Paris


Day 5: Tuesday, June 4 -  Miraculous Medal | St. Vincent De Paul | Louvre Museum

This morning, celebrate Mass at the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal. View the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure, guided by her guardian angel to  the Chapel where the Blessed Virgin revealed a vision of the Miraculous Medal and bestowed abundant graces upon its wearers. Visit the Church of St.  Vincent de Paul, and venerate his tomb above the main altar. In the afternoon, take a guided visit of the Louvre Museum, which is known as one of the  world’s greatest museums. Finally, embark on a Seine River cruise for a beautiful view of the “City of Light”. Group dinner and overnight in Paris.


Day 6: Wednesday, June 5 - Joan of Arc | Winery Lunch | St. Bernadette | Nevers

Say goodbye to Paris and leave for Nevers via the picturesque Loire Valley. Along the way, a stop will be made in Orleans to visit the Cathedral, Place du  Martroi, featuring Joan of Arc’s statue, and her house. Enjoy lunch at a picturesque winery and sample the region famous for Sauvignon Blanc. Continue  on to Nevers, a city built into a limestone hill and speckled with town houses covered in beautiful slate and tile roofs. As a member of the Congregation  of the Sisters of Nevers, Bernadette Soubirous lived here for 12 years after taking the veil in 1867. See St. Bernadette’s incorrupt body at the convent of St.  Gildard, miraculously preserved since her death in 1879. Mass will be celebrated at the St. Gildard Convent. Dinner and overnight in Nevers.


Day 7: Thursday, June 6 - Paray Le Monial (City of the Eucharist)

Depart Nevers and travel to Paray le Monial, known as the City of the Eucharist. This is the site of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Saint Margaret  Mary Alacoque. A local guide will show you the main sights of this countryside town. Visit the Chapel of the Visitations, the Chapel of St. Claude and the  Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Mass will be celebrated at the Chapel of the Apparitions at the Basilica du Sacre Coeur. Gather for a group dinner and  overnight in Paray le Monial.


Day 8: Friday, June 7 - Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus | St. John Vianney

Celebrate Mass at the Chapel of the Apparitions, followed by time for personal prayer. You may have the chance to meet the Sisters from the Visitation  Order and hear about the life of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Next, travel to Ars. visiting the home and Shrine of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of parish  priests, renowned for his powerful sermons and hours spent in the confessional, embodying remarkable charity and love for his community that gained  fame globally in the Christian world. Continue to Lyon for dinner and hotel check-in.


Day 9: Saturday, June 8 - Lyon | Annecy

On your last full day, depart for the town of Annecy to celebrate Mass at the Basilica of the Visitation, and venerate the relics of St. Francis de Sales and St.  Jane Frances de Chantal. Spend a free afternoon in this quaint Alpine village. Return to Lyon for a celebratory farewell dinner and overnight in Lyon.


Day 10: Sunday, June 9 - Depart for USA

Depart early for the Lyon airport and return flight(s) home.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE AND CANCELLATION TERMS 

Deposit: $350 per person due upon registration

Second Deposit: $1,250 additional due 150 days prior to departure (1/2/24) 

Final Payment: Balance due on or before 90 days prior to departure (3/2/24) 


All payments are non-refundable, and subject to CTS Terms and Conditions including the CTS Liability Release. All cancellations must be  received in writing. Penalties will be determined according to postmark date, or date of the fax or email sent by the cancelling passenger
