For over 20 years Music at the Grand has been an event cherished by students and teachers alike. On this overnight trip, students will experience clinics with Stephen Petrunak or Douglas Droste and the history and natural beauty of their home state. It’s also an opportunity for students to build relationships with students from their own class and other schools. Our 2024 featured clinicians are Stephen Petrunak and Douglas Droste.

Stephen Petrunak

Choral Clinician & Conductor

Stephen Petrunak is known nationally for his service as President and CEO of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians and locally for his work as a music instructor at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. He has recorded and produced several instrumental collections of music and is currently the Director of Music at St. Blase Catholic. Most recently Stephen served as Artistic Director for the 2022 Voices in the Hall.

Douglas Droste

Band Clinician

Douglas Droste is a renowned clinician and adjudicator, who has served at Festival Disney, ASTA’s National Orchestra Festival, and the Music for All National Festival. He is Director of Orchestral Studies at Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music, where he conducts the Baldwin Wallace Symphony Orchestra and teaches conducting.
