Day 1: Wednesday, May 8, 2024 • Depart USA
Depart the USA on overnight flights to Rome, Italy.
Day 2: Thursday, May 9 • Pompeii | Castellammare di Stabia
Arrive in Rome. Meet our Italian Tour Manager and depart by private motor coach for Pompeii. Visit the famous Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary and learn about the life of the Blessed Bartolo Longo, who built the shrine and dedicated his life to serving orphans and preparing them for careers. Mass will be celebrated here. Continue to Castellammare di Stabia to check into hotel. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Castellammare di Stabia.
Day 3: Friday, May 10 • Amalfi | Ravello
After breakfast, take a breathtaking drive along the Amalfi Coast, one of the most beautiful roads in the world. Each winding turn reveals a dazzling and unforgettable view of the coastline and sea. The villas are perched into the rocky coastline and seem to hang from the heavens. Stop in Amalfi, one of the four Maritime Republics of Italy. Celebrate Mass at the Cathedral of Amalfi, dedicated to St. Andrew, whose relics and crypt are located here. Explore the pedestrian streets of this quaint town where there are various bars and cafes. Continue to Ravello, which is nestled 1,110 feet above the sea. Time for lunch on own, followed by a visit to Villa Rufolo. Return to Castellammare di Stabia for an evening of leisure with dinner on your own. Overnight in Castellammare di Stabia.
Day 4: Saturday, May 11 • Positano
After breakfast, depart for the cliffside village of Positano, known for its pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes. Celebrate Mass at Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, followed by a tour to admire the 12th century Black Madonna and learn the story of this Byzantine icon. Then, take the afternoon for time on your own to explore this coastal town, shop, or relax on the beach. Depart for the neighboring town of Praiano for a group dinner. Return for an overnight in Castellammare di Stabia.
Day 5: Sunday, May 12 • Capri
This morning enjoy a scenic boat ride over to the island of Capri. Celebrate Mass at Chiesa di San Costanzo, one of the oldest churches on the island, named after the patron saint of the island of Capri, San Costanzo. After Mass, depart for the Villa of San Michele and experience the remarkable collection of treasures; two-thousand-year-old sculptures, antique masterpieces and a romantic garden of exotic flowers, filled with birdsong and wonderful scents. Enjoy some free time for lunch on own and personal visits and/or shopping. As evening approaches, return to Castellammare di Stabia for an evening and dinner on your own. Overnight in Castellammare di Stabia.
Day 6: Monday, May 13 • Montecassino | Rome
This morning, depart Castellammare di Stabia for Rome. Stop to celebrate Mass at Montecassino Abbey, followed by a tour of this spectacular Benedictine Abbey, on the top of a mountain. This monastery was founded and built by St. Benedict (patron saint of Europe) around AD 529 on the remains of a Roman fortification. Continue to Rome. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and freshen up before a group dinner. Overnight in Rome.
Day 7: Tuesday, May 14 • Christian Rome Tour | Walking Tour
After breakfast, celebrate Mass at St Mary Major. After Mass, take a Christian Rome Tour, including St. Mary Major and John in Lateran, which is the Cathedral of Rome. Then see the Holy Steps climbed by Christ in Jerusalem, and the Basilica of the Holy Cross where some of Christianity’s most important relics are housed, including a piece of the True Cross, thorn and nails. Enjoy an evening walking tour to see the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona. Evening at leisure and dinner on own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 8: Wednesday, May 15 • Papal Audience | Ancient Rome
After breakfast at the hotel, attend the weekly Papal Audience (pending the Holy Father’s schedule.) Celebrate Mass at Santo Spirito in Sassia followed by a special group lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon, explore Ancient Rome with a tour that includes the Coliseum (inside visit), Capitol Hill, and the Roman Forum. Dinner on own and evening at leisure. Overnight in Rome.
Day 9: Thursday, May 16 • Rome | Vatican Museums
This morning, celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. Visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, where you will view some of the most inspiring works of art, including Michelangelo’s magnificent fresco of the Last Judgment. Afternoon is at your leisure for final exploration on your own. Farewell Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 10: Friday, May 17 • Return to USA
This morning, transfer to Rome airport for return flights home
