Itinerary
Day 1: Thursday, June 26 - Depart USA
Depart for Rome on overnight, international flights.
Day 2: Friday, June 27 - Arrival | Welcome Reception
Upon arrival, transfer independently to Starhotels Michelangelo, a beautiful four-star hotel just steps from St. Peter’s Basilica. Check in and meet your Italian tour manager, who will accompany the group throughout the week. Gather for an opening Mass with Archbishop Weisenburger, followed by a welcome dinner. Overnight in Rome.
Day 3: Saturday, June 28 - St. John Lateran | Ambassador’s Residence Reception
Begin the day with Mass at St. John Lateran, followed by a guided tour of this magnificent basilica. Walk through the Holy Doors, then visit the Holy Steps and the Basilica of the Holy Cross, home to treasured relics, including a piece of the True Cross. In the evening, attend a private reception with Archbishop Weisenburger at the residence of the American Ambassador to the Holy See.* Enjoy dinner at leisure before returning to the hotel. Overnight in Rome.
Day 4: Sunday, June 29 - Pallium Mass | St. Peter’s Basilica | Pontifical North American College
Attend the Pallium Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, celebrated with the Holy Father, Archbishop Weisenburger, and newly installed archbishops from around the world. Afterward, gather for a special reception at the Pontifical North American College, where the newly installed U.S. archbishops will be honored. Overnight in Rome.
Day 5: Monday, June 30 - Private Tour of the Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel
After celebrating morning Mass, enjoy free time to explore the Eternal City at your own pace. In the evening, experience an exclusive after-hours visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Conclude the night with a special reception in the Vatican courtyard, hosted by Archbishop Weisenburger. Overnight in Rome
Day 6: Tuesday, July 1 - Scavi Tour | St. Paul Outside the Walls
Begin the day with a guided Scavi Tour, offering a rare opportunity to explore the excavations beneath St. Peter’s Basilica and pray at the tomb of St. Peter.* Continue to Santa Maria Sopra Minerva and Sant’Agostino, each housing the tombs of cherished women saints, St. Catherine of Siena and St. Monica. Later, celebrate Mass at St. Paul Outside the Walls, followed by a tour and a walk through the Holy Doors. Enjoy dinner independently before returning to the hotel. Overnight in Rome.
Day 7: Wednesday, July 2 - St. Mary Major Sunset Experience
Spend the morning at leisure, perfect for last-minute shopping or personal exploration. In the evening, gather for a memorable sunset experience at St. Mary Major, one of Rome’s Papal Basilicas dedicated to Our Lady. Celebrate Mass, walk through the Holy Doors, and conclude the journey with a farewell dinner.
Day 8: Thursday, July 3 - Return to USA
Transfer independently to the Rome airport for return flights home.
