Concerning the Novel coronavirus

Frequently Asked Questions

We monitor the latest status of our destinations as identified by primary official sources of information. We encourage travelers to avail themselves of these sources: the US State Department, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the World Health Organization.  For the latest CDC risk assessment click country-specific travel recommendations.

Departure timing matters! Due to the rapidly changing nature of the novel Coronavirus development, decisions to operate a tour to affected destinations are determined as the travel becomes more proximate.  We actively engage our client group leaders in evaluating all potential options.
  • For tours that are more than 60 days away from departure, we maintain an active monitoring of the latest situation.
  • Once a tour reaches less than 60 days from departure, we engage our client group leaders in a review of potential alternatives.  Because every tour group has unique characteristics, the range of alternatives to be considered can vary significantly. Please note that our standard terms and conditions (including cancellation terms) remain in place, since payments have been made to suppliers to secure the arrangements and inclusions for the tour.
  • As soon as we align on any change in status or direction of the tour, we will communicate the outcome to all affected travelers.

In many cases, travelers may not benefit from canceling a booking now, versus waiting to cancel weeks or months from now. In an effort to address personal concerns, travelers may make premature decisions that can cost them financially, and unnecessarily prevent them from achieving the travel experience they desire. We encourage you to review the specific cancellation deadlines associated with your travel. Please note that our standard terms and conditions (including cancellation terms) remain in place, since payments have been made to suppliers to secure the arrangements and inclusions for the tour. Ultimately, we acknowledge that it is the traveler’s prerogative whether cancel their travel arrangements.

For those who have recently purchased, or who are actively considering travel with CTS, we strongly encourage you to learn about the benefits and costs associated with Travel Protection inclusive of the Cancel for Any Reason option (CFAR), where available. The CFAR option, only available for purchase within 14 days of booking, provides a level of financial recovery in the event the traveler elects not to travel. This remains the most empowering option available to any individual who is choosing to make travel plans. For more information, please click here.
